This October 14-16 join us for the Rubber Mini Expo and 174th Technical Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.

Symposia topics include Advances in Nanotechnology, Elastomeric Materials: Challenges in Pharmaceutical/Biomedical Applications, NHTSA Tire Research, and Rubber Recycling. The meeting will also feature the 5th Annual Student Colloquium of oral and poster presentations from college and university students around the world.

Four seminars will also be held: Introduction to Rubber Technology, Fundamentals of Rubber Compounding, The Rules & Regulations of Workplace Safety and OSHA Understanding, Interpreting and Complying with the Law, and Practical Viscoelasticity.

2008 General Elections

On June 30th, General Elections are open for all Rubber Division Members/Affiliates. An email containing the required registration codes went out June 30th to all those with an active email in our database. Paper ballots were mailed to those who do not have an active email in our database.

General Elections will close August 31st.

Rubber Band Contest

The Rubber Division, ACS with The Akron Global Polymer Academy and The University of Akron is hosting the first-ever Rubber Band Contest for Young Inventors. Students (grades 5-8), with the help of a teacher or mentor from the Rubber Industry, can demonstrate their ingenuity by creating an invention that incorporates the use of rubber bands. IRSHF Selection Committee Choses R. S. Rivlin

The 2008 International Rubber Science Hall of Fame selection committee met on Friday, April 18, 2008. The committee selected Professor Ronald S. Rivlin (1915-2005) to be inducted into the International Rubber Science Hall of Fame at the 50th Anniversary celebration on Thursday, November 6, 2008. The program will be sent out later this summer. The Rubber Division is now accepting abstracts from college and university graduate and undergraduate students in the fields of rubber, polymers, elatomers and plastics for the 5th Annual Student Colloquium on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, in Louisville, Kentucky, during the 174th Technical Meeting and Rubber Mini Expo.
