During the Business & Awards Meeting
on Thursday, October 12, our 2006 Division Chair, Andy Claytor (Teknor
Apex), and Student Affairs Committee Chair, Rikki Lamba (Columbian
Chemicals), presented three students with a copy of Basic
Elastomer Technology as a token of our appreciation for their
hard work as they each won a $1500 scholarship.
Rebecca King with Morehead State University
won the Best Undergraduate Poster Scholarship sponsored by Zeon for
her work titled, "Anionic
Synthesis and Functionalization of Poly(styryl)litium with Dimethylchlorosilane
Followed by Hydrosilation with Vinyltrim Ethoxysilane". Anirban
Ganguly with the Indian Institute of Technology won the Best Graduate
Poster Scholarship sponsored by Columbian Chemicals Company for his
work titled, "Effect
of Polar Modification on the Morphology and Properties of Styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene
Triblock Copolymer-montmorillonite Clay Nanocomposites". Berta
