Title: Improving the sustainability of rubber formulations using biobased fillers

With the concept of circular economy and sustainable development, the rubber industry must now improve its carbon footprint by using more biobased materials. This can be done by a substitution of petroleum based fillers with more renewable ones. In this presentation, the basic concepts of sustainable development will be reviewed. Then, a list of potential and locally available biosourced fillers will be presented and discussed in terms of functionality, cost and performance. Finally, some preliminary results obtained in our research group will be discussed before presenting general conclusions and openings for future developments.
